Local stars to represent SA Rugby Legends tonight

The SA Rugby Legends are back in action today, with a wealth of Middelburg rugby legends at their disposal, as they travel to Jo’burg to face the Pirates Madalas.

Taking place at the club’s grounds in Greenside, Johannesburg, the SA Legends will square off against the Madalas at 18:30 tonight.

The glamorous list of names set to take part in the game features the likes of former Lions captain and Springbok Jaco Kriel, as well as a slew of former rugby players turned Middelburg icons, that include the following:

Valke, Griffons, and Middelburg Rugby Club hooker Bertie Powell, Pumas prop and Rooi Bul Jacques Muller, Pumas winger Sam Gerber, Sys Kotze, assistant coach Krynauw Otto, who grew up in Belfast and went on to have an illustrious career, playing for the Springboks as a lock, Pumas lock Luan ‘Veltie’ Velthuizen, Pumas utility back Sacha Marot, and Andries Coetzee, the former Springbok and HTS Middelburg full-back.

A post-match function will follow the spectacle, held at the Madalas’ Pigeon House.

Entry is R150 per person, and the expected starting time is 19:30.
