St Declan’s School for Boys sporting teams

St Declan’s School for Boys, located off 101 Swartkoppies Road, witnessed its students actively engaging in a variety of sporting activities. The primary objective is to promote physical fitness among the students and expose them to different sports disciplines.

The students enthusiastically participated in cricket, mini-cricket, rugby, soccer, and cross-country events.

Cricket (first team performance):

St Declan’s vs Etwatwa

St Declan’s: 176/10 in 42 overs. Rahiel Morar scored 40 runs.

Etwatwa: 134/10 in 23 overs. Sipesihle Mabuya claimed three wickets, while Caelan Boucher took four. St Declan’s emerged victorious by 42 runs.

Mini-cricket for St Declan’s grades One and Two:

The younger students were actively involved in mini-cricket games, with the grades One and Two boys winning all their matches.

Cross-country:

Students Aviwe Lutshaba and Landen Tromp proudly represented St Declan’s at the district-level cross-country event held in Boksburg.

Soccer:

The school’s U16 boys’ soccer team secured a notable victory of 2-0 in the Independent Soccer Schools League, causing an upset to Saheti School, which suffered the defeat.

Rugby:

U9 (A): St Declan’s 70-20 Bedfordview

U9 (B): St Declan’s 35-0 Alberview

U10: St Declan’s 20-15 Hurlyvale

U11: St Declan’s 35-10 Wendywood

U13: St Declan’s 25-15 Reddam.
