Alberton young guns outbox opponents

JP du Plooy and Blake Potter, Alberton Boxing Club’s young guns, recently gave a spectacular showing during a boxing tournament.

The duo reigned supreme at the recent interprovincial tournament, which saw Gauteng boxers go head-to-head with Mpumalanga, Limpopo and Eswatini boxers.

They outfought two brothers from Mpumalanga in the 30kg and 54kg weight divisions, respectively, walking away with medals for their talents.

Du Plooy, scheduled to fight for three rounds, won his bout by a points decision, while Potter outfought his opponent, resulting in the referee stopping the fight.

The club’s management congratulated the duo for their victories.
