Get ready for the SuperSlam, hitting Brakpan with a wave of professional wrestling excitement. According to Michael Potter, the creative director of the National Wrestling Federation (NWF), Brakpan has long been a hub for professional wrestling in South Africa. SuperSlam will take place on March 2 at the Brakpan Indoor Sports Centre. Potter expressed the NWF’s determination to revive fans’ fervour for professional wrestling before the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted events. He emphasised the NWF’s mission to make a grand comeback, showcasing new and returning talent.

Potter described the event as a thrilling night of wrestling, promising action-packed matches featuring seasoned veterans and fresh faces. One of the standout talents to watch out for is Chris Kotze, the reigning NWF heavyweight champion, praised for his athleticism and imposing physique. Alongside Kotze, wrestlers like Mega Mandla and Leroy Jenkins will deliver high-energy performances.

Potter highlighted the NWF’s commitment to inclusivity, aiming to represent the diverse demographics of the community. He praised the blend of talent in the NWF, ranging from powerhouse Afrikaans wrestlers like Kotze to agile performers from the townships. Veterans like Crow and Hector Payne, long-standing figures in the wrestling scene, will also grace the event. Potter teased surprises and returning favourites, promising a nostalgic trip for Brakpan residents.
