Heatwave Warning: SA Weather Service Alerts Gauteng Residents
SAWS* has issued a heatwave warning for several areas within Gauteng, alerting residents to prepare for scorching temperatures in the coming days.
As per EWN, the weather service says the province will experience extremely high temperatures from Thursday. This sweltering weather pattern will likely persist until Sunday. Forecaster Wayne Venter attributed these soaring temperatures to a high-pressure system in the atmosphere, causing a significant rise in surface temperatures.

Venter offered valuable advice to residents to help them cope with the impending heatwave. He emphasised the importance of staying well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water, limiting outdoor activities whenever possible, and opting for loose, breathable clothing. Seeking shade when venturing outside is also recommended to mitigate the effects of the intense heat.
As Gauteng braces itself for this heatwave, residents are encouraged to take necessary precautions to safeguard their well-being during this challenging weather.
