In a delightful turn of events at a friend’s 60th birthday celebration, the Spring Fling cocktail was born. With only vodka, simple syrup, and kiwis and cherries at hand, this refreshing concoction was crafted to honor the occasion.

Ingredients

  • 50ml vodka
  • 25ml fresh lime juice
  • 15ml simple syrup
  • 3 ripe kiwis, peeled and sliced
  • 6-8 cherries, pitted
  • Soda water, to top
  • Ice cubes

Garnish:

  • Kiwi slices (1-2 rounds)
  • Red cherries (whole)

Method

  1. In a cocktail shaker, combine the sliced kiwis and cherries. Gently press the fruit to extract the juices.
  2. Add vodka, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup over the muddled fruits. Include a few ice cubes.
  3. Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds.
  4. Strain the cocktail into a chilled glass over fresh ice, using a fine mesh strainer to ensure clarity.
  5. Top with soda water and garnish with kiwi slices and cherries.
