Easy-to-make nectarine jam with ginger

An interesting jam recipe worth trying is the nectarine jam with a hint of ginger. Ingredients

  • 1½ kg nectarines, sliced and pitted
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp fresh ginger, grated or finely chopped

Method

  1. Combine the fruit and sugar in a large pot over medium-high heat.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil, ensuring the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Mash the fruit using a potato masher.
  4. Add lemon juice and continue to boil, stirring frequently.
  5. Boil for 15 – 20 minutes.
  6. Regularly skim off the foam from the top.
  7. Stir in the ginger.
  8. Remove from heat and let it cool for 10 minutes.
  9. Transfer the jam into hot sterilized jars, leaving a 2 cm space at the top, and seal.
