Determination and World-Class Education: St Mary’s Celebrates 100% Matric Pass Rate

St Mary’s School in Waverley, Johannesburg, has upheld its reputation for academic excellence, delivering another stellar performance in the 2024 National Senior Certificate (NSC) results. With a 100% pass rate and an impressive 99% of candidates qualifying for a Bachelor’s Degree, the school continues to set the standard for academic achievement in South Africa.

Remarkable Highlights of the NSC 2024 Results

• 100% Pass Rate: All 88 matriculants successfully completed their exams.
• 395 Distinctions: Averaging an outstanding 4.25 distinctions per student.
• Bachelors Degree Qualification: 99% of students earned this qualification.
• High Academic Achievement:
  • 95% of students obtained at least one distinction.
  • 44% of students (41 candidates) achieved an average of 80% or higher.
  • 89% of students (83 candidates) achieved an average of 70% or higher.
  • 95% of students (88 candidates) achieved an average of 60% or higher.

Subject Excellence

• English: 55 students (59%) earned distinctions.
• Mathematics: 38 students (49%) achieved distinctions.
• Further Studies Mathematics: 19 students (66%) excelled with distinctions.

In addition, four candidates earned spots on the IEB Outstanding Achievers list, while one candidate was recognized on the IEB Commendable Achievers list.
