A young singer from Zimbabwe has left the Britain’s Got Talent judges in awe with her incredible voice, delivering a performance that moved both the panel and the audience.

From Zimbabwe to the UK

Linda Mudzenda, a 21-year-old children’s support worker from Bedford, originally comes from Zimbabwe.

Speaking to Mirror, she shared how she had always dreamed of competing on the talent show.

“I used to watch BGT on YouTube growing up,” she said. “Whenever people asked what I wanted to do in the future, I’d say I wanted to be part of Britain’s Got Talent. Even back in Zimbabwe, I believed I’d move to the UK and make it happen.”

She admitted that the idea of getting the coveted golden buzzer made her emotional.

Linda’s passion for music started early—she began singing in church with her sisters at just 10 years old.

“It’s very different performing solo now,” she reflected.

By 16, she had started working with gospel artists around the world, providing backing vocals, writing songs, and even helping produce music.

She now plans to release her first single later this year, with her songs inspired by her faith and aimed at helping people navigate tough times.

Balancing Music and Child Support Work

Despite her growing success in music, Linda works as a children’s support worker, helping kids from newborns to 18 years old.

“It’s a rewarding job, and no two days are the same,” she said. “My favorite moments are with the babies—they make me so broody!”

Many of the older children she supports share her love of music, which helps her connect with them on a deeper level.

Performing on Bigger Stages

Linda has already performed in front of large audiences, including at the Afri Praise concert at Birmingham Arena.

“Singing for a big crowd is nerve-wracking at first, but once I get the microphone, I forget the nerves and own the stage,” she said.

Now, she hopes her BGT journey will open new doors.

“Winning Britain’s Got Talent and gaining international recognition would be a dream come true. It would allow me to grow my audience, release more music, and maybe even go on tour.”
