Tyla continues her unstoppable rise in the global music industry, securing the World Artist of the Year award at the 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards.

This historic win makes her both the first artist to ever receive the award and the first South African artist to win an iHeartRadio Music Award.

Tyla has been on a record-breaking streak. At the 2024 Grammy Awards, she became the youngest African artist to win a Grammy, taking home the Best African Music Performance award at just 22 years old. She also became the first and youngest South African soloist in 55 years to break into the US Billboard Hot 100 with her hit song “Water.”

Her dominance continued at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs), where she became the first African artist to win three awards in a single night.

For the iHeartRadio World Artist of the Year award, Tyla triumphed over an impressive lineup, including Burna Boy, Tems, Central Cee, and YG Marley.
