Joburg-based designer Thebe Magugu praised Tyla for embodying South Africa’s cultural resurgence. He noted that Tyla unapologetically showcases her heritage, using it as a source of strength rather than something to hide.

“Guys, it’s insane, like Vogue? It’s literally insane! I’m so happy,” she exclaimed. “I was so excited, the team was so fun. The photographer, all of us, we got along so well. The shoot felt like I didn’t want it to end. We were trying on so many different outfits. We were having fun with it, and I was involved with the outfits and everything. It felt like a group thing … I just loved it so much. And the results, oh my gosh, yes. It’s so good!”
