The highly anticipated final season of The Summer I Turned Pretty is set to premiere in July, and fans are eager to see how Belly’s journey unfolds. After season 2 ended with her choosing Jeremiah over Conrad, season 3 will pick up with a time jump, bringing viewers to the end of her freshman year of college.

Surprises Await in the Final Chapter

Author and showrunner Jenny Han teased that the last installment of the trilogy will have unexpected twists. “There are the things that [fans] know, things they think they know, and then there’s going to be, hopefully, things that surprise them,” Han shared.

Lola Tung, who plays Belly, praised Han’s storytelling, emphasizing that every decision serves the narrative. “Every season and every choice about what’s next is purely to serve the story. It’s all about this beautiful world she’s created,” Tung said.

Han revealed that season 3 will feature many heartfelt moments between Belly and Jeremiah. With the time jump, their connection has strengthened, and their chemistry on screen reflects that bond. “Lola and Gavin [Casalegno] have really great chemistry, and their rhythm together feels seamless,” Han noted.

Meanwhile, Conrad, played by Christopher Briney, has spent time away at Stanford and is now returning to a changed dynamic. Han hinted that he will be “rediscovering” relationships and coming to terms with how distance has shaped them.

Tung described Belly and Jeremiah’s relationship as deeply rooted in friendship. “The Jellyfish fans love how sweet they are and how, at their core, they’re best friends. Their relationship is something so special and unique, and it’s exciting to see how it blossoms this season.”
