Seth Shezi: From Style Icon to Culinary Master chef Champion with a Mission

Seth Shezi, celebrated as South Africa’s best-dressed man in 2018, has seamlessly transitioned from the world of high fashion to the culinary spotlight. The KwaZulu-Natal-born creative emerged victorious in Season 6 of Celebrity MasterChef South Africa, securing the coveted title and signaling a new chapter in his multifaceted career.

A Stylish Victory in the Kitchen

Competing against fierce contenders, including media personality Dineo Ranaka, Shezi triumphed in the finale with a combination of skill and creativity. His journey wasn’t without challenges, as he initially hesitated to join the competition.

“I said ‘no’ three times before joining. I wasn’t confident enough to call myself a ‘chef’,” admitted Shezi.

Despite his self-doubt, the 39-year-old walked away with the R1 million grand prize, R500,000 cash, and R20,000 donated to the Ladies of Love charity, which provides meals to South Africa’s vulnerable communities.

Shezi outcooked finalists like singer Holly Rey and designer Mzukisi Mbane, with Dineo Ranaka proving to be a formidable rival in the finale.

“Dineo is incredibly competitive. She made me bring my A-game,” said Shezi. “Her determination inspired me to push myself beyond my limits.”

The intense six-part series tested Shezi and other celebrities on their ability to reimagine and present creative dishes under pressure, earning praise from judges and viewers alike.

A Blend of Fashion and Food

Shezi envisions merging his passion for fashion and food to create a unique identity as the “fashionable foodie.” He plans to collaborate with international and local chefs on charity dinners and cook-offs, bringing his style and culinary expertise to a global stage.

“This win feels like my 2018 fashion recognition all over again. It confirms that I belong in the food world,” said Shezi.

Drawing inspiration from his journey in fashion, Shezi now aims to elevate his culinary craft, having honed his skills alongside renowned chefs.

With a stellar start to the year, Shezi is poised to continue breaking boundaries. His blend of creativity, philanthropy, and passion positions him as a trailblazer in both the fashion and culinary worlds.

“This is only the beginning. I’m excited to push boundaries, challenge myself, and use my platform for good,” he said.
