Beloved drag performer Jiggly Caliente, known for her unforgettable presence on RuPaul’s Drag Race, has died at the age of 44. Born Bianca Castro-Arabejo, Caliente passed away peacefully on April 27, 2025, following complications from a serious infection that led to surgery and the amputation of her leg. Her death was confirmed in a heartfelt Instagram post by her family.

“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Bianca Castro-Arabejo, known to the world and cherished by many as Jiggly Caliente,” the statement read. “She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and close friends.”

Jiggly Caliente first rose to fame on RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 4 in 2011, capturing hearts with her authenticity, humour, and fierce performances. Her influence extended far beyond the stage. In 2022, she became a judge on Drag Race Philippines, continuing to champion LGBTQIA+ representation in media and culture.

Caliente’s impact was not only artistic but deeply personal. She inspired countless fans around the world through her activism, openness about being a trans woman, and her dedication to creating safe, inclusive spaces for others.

In the wake of her untimely passing, her family is reaching out for help. The costs of her medical treatment, funeral, and memorial services have placed an unexpected financial burden on her loved ones.

“We’re asking for your help,” the family wrote. “Your support will go directly toward the funeral, memorial services, medical bills, and related expenses—everything needed to give Jiggly the beautiful, heartfelt goodbye she deserves.”

They also plan to donate any excess funds to causes Jiggly championed throughout her life, including trans rights and LGBTQIA+ community initiatives.

While a private ceremony will be held for close family, a public celebration of her life is being planned. Details will be shared soon so that fans and friends can come together to remember and honour her vibrant spirit.

Social media has since been flooded with emotional tributes from fans, friends, and fellow performers:

“Forever we will call you Jiggly Caliente. Rest in power, princess of Laguna,” one fan posted.

“Love you, Jiggly! You will be greatly missed. The amount of joy you brought me—I’ll be forever grateful,” another shared.

Jiggly Caliente’s memory lives on through the joy she brought to the stage, the hearts she touched, and the barriers she broke. Her family’s call for support is not only about covering costs—it’s about keeping her legacy of love, light, and fierce authenticity alive.
