Jay-Z Denies Rape Allegations, Slams Blackmail Claims Against Lawyer Tony Buzbee
Hip-hop icon and entrepreneur Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Corey Carter, has strongly denied allegations that he raped a 13-year-old girl in 2000. In a statement released in response to the civil lawsuit filed by an unnamed woman, Jay-Z described the accusations as “heinous” and unfounded, claiming that the lawsuit is an attempt to damage his reputation and that of his family.
The allegations were brought to light by the woman’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, who filed the civil action. Jay-Z responded by accusing Buzbee of attempting to blackmail him, calling his legal tactics “theatrics.” He further stated that Buzbee’s history of similar actions had become apparent after conducting his own research into the lawyer’s background.
“These allegations are outrageous and based on lies,” Jay-Z said in his statement. “This is a disgusting attempt to exploit my name and reputation for money.” He added that he had no intention of succumbing to the blackmail attempts, stressing that they would not receive any financial compensation from him.

Jay-Z, who has built a successful career both in music and business, expressed his concern over the emotional toll the case could take on his family, particularly on his wife, Beyoncé, and their children. In his statement, he said, “My only heartbreak is for my family. My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions.” Jay-Z explained that he would need to help his children understand the impact of such malicious claims and the cruelty behind them.
In addition to defending his family’s honor, Jay-Z also offered his support to true victims of sexual assault, emphasizing the importance of protecting those whose experiences are legitimate. “I mourn yet another loss of innocence,” he said. “Children should not have to endure such a traumatic experience at a young age, and it’s unfair for them to be exposed to the cruelty and malice intended to destroy families.”
He also issued a warning to Buzbee, stating that the lawyer had made a grave mistake in thinking that celebrities are easy targets for such claims. “This is a terrible error,” Jay-Z said, asserting that he would stand firm against the false accusations.
The case is still ongoing, and Jay-Z has vowed to continue to fight the allegations in court while maintaining his support for those who truly suffer from sexual violence.
