tarynHalle Bailey recently shared her frustration after her ex, rapper and YouTuber DDG, appeared on a livestream with their baby son, Halo, without her consent. This event happened on a broadcast by popular streamer Kai Cenat, who often hosts high-energy streams with celebrity guests. Bailey, who was out of town and recovering from childbirth, said she wasn’t informed beforehand.
On X (formerly Twitter), Bailey expressed her feelings, writing, “I am out of town, and I don’t approve of my baby being on a stream tonight. I wasn’t told or notified, and I am extremely upset to have my baby in front of millions of people. I am his mother and protector and saddened that I wasn’t notified, especially when I am out of town.”
In a follow-up post, she emphasized the need for respect during her postpartum recovery. “As a woman experiencing severe postpartum, there are boundaries that I wish to be respected. Nobody knows what someone is going through until they snap,” she shared. Shortly after posting, Bailey deactivated her social media accounts, which led many fans to speculate about the toll this event took on her.
The incident sparked a large debate about co-parenting, respect, and parental consent in public spaces. Many fans showed support for Bailey, praising her for setting clear boundaries. One fan posted, “Halle, YOU ARE NOT WRONG. There should never be a situation in any co-parenting relationship where one parent doesn’t know where or what the other parent is doing with your child.”
Others disagreed, arguing that DDG has a right to be with his son on public platforms. “Baby mamas always talking about what they don’t ‘approve of’ when the baby is with the dad. Nobody needs your permission, lady,” one user tweeted.
Bailey and DDG announced their split in October after dating since 2022. Though they have committed to co-parenting, the incident shows the challenge of setting shared boundaries as public figures. This isn’t the first time DDG, born Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., has posted about their son, with past videos reaching millions of views.
Bailey is known for her career as one half of the music duo Chloe x Halle and as the lead in The Little Mermaid. Now, she is navigating the roles of both new mom and public figure. Her recent posts show her focus on protecting her child and respecting her own recovery.
This event sheds light on the pressures of co-parenting in the public eye. Bailey’s story reminds us that clear communication and respect are crucial in any shared parenting journey—especially one in the spotlight.
