The beloved South African reality show “Boer Soek ’n Vrou” is back for its highly anticipated 17th season, introducing a new host, Reandi Grey. This season not only features fresh farmers looking for love but also brings a new energy to the show.
A New Chapter for “Boer Soek ’n Vrou”
Reandi Grey takes over as the presenter as the show continues its mission of helping farmers find companionship. For the past four years, Marciel Hopkins traveled thousands of kilometers to help farmers in their search for romance. Now, it’s Grey’s turn to spread hope to potential life partners. The announcement was made on kykNET’s entertainment show “Bravo!”
“It’s been on my industry bucket list for years—this is what I wanted to do,” Grey shared with Hopkins in an interview. Hopkins expressed her confidence in Grey, saying she feels at peace knowing Grey is taking over.
Reandi Grey: A Perfect Fit
Reandi Grey is already familiar to TV viewers. She has played Anja in “Diepe Waters” since 2022 and has appeared in “Legacy” and “7de Laan.” Alongside her acting career, she is also launching a clothing line called “Sonder Reëls.”
Grey recalled how she once considered entering as a contestant on “Boer Soek ’n Vrou” when she was younger. She fondly remembers her childhood on her grandfather’s farm, where she spent her mornings hunting finches, collecting eggs, and feeding pigs. Although her husband, Dewald, isn’t a farmer, her dream of becoming a presenter on the show took shape.
Getting this opportunity wasn’t easy for Grey. She worked hard to submit her audition video, involving “begging, pleading, and planning at 5 PM in a park.” After a follow-up audition in Cape Town, she discovered she was competing with many others. Two weeks later, she received the call with the best news ever, learning to pursue her dreams wholeheartedly.
What to Expect This Season
