Chinese Automaker GAC Slashes Prices on Emzoom and Emkoo Models in South Africa

Chinese automaker GAC Motors is shaking up the South African crossover market with significant price reductions on its GS3 Emzoom and Emkoo models. These price cuts, announced on Thursday, are part of GAC’s efforts to enhance its value offering and attract more buyers.

Price Adjustments

The price reductions are substantial:

• The Emzoom range now starts at R419,900, a R50,000 decrease.
• The Emkoo starts at R519,000, with reductions of up to R100,000 on flagship models.

These adjustments are not temporary promotional tactics but are attributed to scaled global cost reductions and a more favourable forex environment in late 2024, according to GAC Motor South Africa.
