Motorists Advised to Avoid Pennyville Amidst Ongoing Protest, JMPD Urges

A protest in Pennyville caused disruptions for motorists on Monday morning, blocking off some roads in the area. Main Reef Road, particularly at the new Commando Road intersection, has been affected by burning tyres, leading to commuter delays, according to EWN.

Johannesburg traffic police are on the scene, but the reason behind the protest remains unclear. Xolani Fihla from the Johannesburg Metro Police Department has urged motorists to exercise caution and seek alternative routes as further traffic disruptions have been reported on Nasrec Road near Juskei Drive, affecting traffic on New Canada Road and leaving Pennyville commuters travelling towards Main Reef Road.
