Gauteng School Admissions 2024: Deadline and Application Details
Parents and guardians who wish to secure a spot for their Grade One or Grade Eight child at a school in 2024 need to act quickly as the deadline is approaching.
The Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) has announced that these two grades’ online admissions application period will close at midnight on Friday, July 21.

Initially scheduled for July 14, the closing date was extended to July 21 to accommodate parents who prefer submitting documents at schools. GDE spokesperson Steve Mabona explained that this extension allows parents and guardians to submit documents after school recess.
Parents now have until July 21 to apply, and they can upload or submit documents until July 28. It’s crucial to provide certified copies of documents within seven school days. Parents are encouraged to upload these documents on the system to one school or deliver them to all schools they have applied to.
