The operations aimed to instil confidence in the community and involved intensified activities such as roadblocks, raids, stop-and-searches, and foot patrols. As a result of collaborative efforts between crime intelligence and community members, the police arrested four individuals for drug possession, including substances like crystal meth, crystal star, and mandrax tablets. The police also apprehended about 40 people for being in the country illegally and several others for dealing in illicit cigarettes.

The arrested suspects will appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on various dates. In a separate incident, the police arrested a 29-year-old man for attempting to bribe a police officer with R400 to release his employee, who the officer had caught with marijuana. The suspect was detained at the Hammanskraal police station and charged with attempting to bribe an officer of the law. At the same time, his 21-year-old employee faced charges of illegal dealing in dagga and possession. The accused’s boss was also charged with dealing and bribery.
