South Africans Capture Snowfall in Northcliff Johannesburg on Video from Homes and Offices

Residents were shocked this morning by the snow in Northcliff and other Joburg areas. People in Johannesburg woke up to a delightful surprise on Monday morning, 10 July, as snow covered several other parts of the city, including Rosebank, Soweto, Sandton,  and Randburg.

According to the South African, excited residents couldn’t resist capturing the magical moment and shared videos and pictures of the snowy landscapes on social media. See them below:

947 reported that temperatures went below zero overnight. This drop made it the coldest night of the year so far. It’s been over a decade since South Africans last witnessed such a significant snowfall, adding to the excitement and wonder of this rare occurrence.

Twitter was abuzz with locals sharing their joy and amazement at the unexpected winter wonderland in Johannesburg.
