Five Suspects Appear in Court as one Confesses to Stabbing Missing German Tourist

The family of a German tourist named Nick Frischke, who went missing in Cape Town two weeks ago, is still holding onto hope. However, the probability of finding him alive is rapidly decreasing.

This is because three out of five men arrested for possessing Frischke’s belongings have admitted to robbing and stabbing him. The suspects appeared in court on Monday and will return for further investigation.

It was reported that the suspects acknowledged robbing Frischke after his backpack, cell phone, and kitchen knife were recovered. Two additional suspects made a brief appearance in court on Tuesday.

The group faces robbery charges with aggravating circumstances and possessing items belonging to Frischke. According to a German broadcaster, RTL News, one of the suspects confessed to being part of an attack on Karbonkelberg and claimed that one of their associates had stabbed Frischke.

The authorities are looking into a kitchen knife for DNA evidence. Frischke’s father expressed his dismay over the lack of communication from the local authorities, citing the recent decline in communication. Although the family is optimistic, they have no immediate plans to travel to Cape Town.

In the search for Frischke, several search and rescue teams, including NSRI, a Western Cape Government Health EMS rescue squad drone team, Emergency Medical Services rescue squad trail search and rescue team, Police K9 search and rescue team, WSAR members, and WSAR K9 search and rescue, combed the Hout Bay region.
