Juicy celebrity drama unfolds as actress Thuli Phongolo drops assault charges against DJ Maphorisa!
Thirteen hours ago, news reports said, “Phongolo withdraws assault case against DJ Maphoris”. The story began on Sunday night, when Thuli Phongolo opened a domestic violence case against her boyfriend, DJ Maphorisa, after allegedly assaulting her during an argument at a gig on Saturday, as per City Press. The former Generations: The Legacy actress reported the incident at the Sandton Police Station, stating that Maphorisa had become aggressive and slapped her. According to Phongolo, Maphorisa dragged her by the neck and hit her with his elbow while they fought for her phone, which he had taken from her. As a result, Phongolo claimed she sustained bruises on her neck, chest, arms, and right cheek.
However, the case took a different turn when Phongolo withdrew her statement and dropped the charges. Despite this, Maphorisa still appeared in court on Monday at the Randburg Magistrates’ Court, where the court granted him bail of R4000. The bail conditions will remain effective until the charges are formally withdrawn.
Phongolo has since cleared her Instagram feed, which has over three million followers.
