Loftus Versfeld Springboks Test against Australia sold out
The upcoming 2023 season for the South African national rugby team, the Springboks, is set to commence with an opening match against Australia at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria. The stadium is expecting a full house on July 8th for the Rugby Championship. The Blue Bulls Co (BBCo.) and SA Rugby announced this news on Friday, revealing that the match’s tickets have sold out as reported by The South African.
As the Rugby Championship is an abbreviated version, the Springboks will only have two home Tests this year. The second one against Argentina is scheduled to take place at Ellis Park in Johannesburg on July 29th. Fans will be able to purchase tickets for this match soon.

Following the Wallabies match, the Springboks will head to Auckland to face the All Blacks on July 15th. In addition, the team has several Rugby World Cup warm-up fixtures lined up, including matches against Argentina in Buenos Aires on August 5th, Wales in Cardiff on August 19th, and New Zealand on August 25th.
Rian Oberholzer, the CEO of SA Rugby, expressed his excitement at the “sold out” signs going up two months before the match, demonstrating the support for the team as they prepare for the Rugby World Cup in France later this year. He also reminded fans to purchase match tickets only from official ticket outlets to ensure entry into the stadium.
