Water crisis looms in Gauteng as Rand Water shutdown scheduled on May 11-13!
Attention Winchester Hills and surrounding areas, please note that there will be a planned Rand Water shutdown from 6:00 pm on May 11 until 9:00 am on May 13. Southern Courier reports that the shutdown will affect Johannesburg Water customers in Winchester Hills, Gillview, Mondeor, Suiderood and Glenanda.
According to Nolwazi Dhlamini, external communications officer at Johannesburg Water, the purpose of the shutdown is to complete a tie-in of the newly replaced section of the G20 pipeline to the existing G20 pipeline. As a result of the shutdown, there will be no water supply to these areas during the 39-hour shutdown period.
The officials are arranging an alternative water supply for the affected areas and will provide further updates to residents. Stay tuned for the latest information and ensure you have an adequate water supply during the shutdown period.
