Applications Open for BASA Supporting Grants 2025: Boosting Arts and Business Collaboration
Artists and organisations across South Africa can now apply for Cycle 4 of the Business and Arts South Africa (BASA) Supporting Grants Programme. The initiative aims to enhance artistic excellence, promote social cohesion, and stimulate economic growth through meaningful partnerships between the arts and business sectors.
The deadline for applications is 24 January 2025, providing a golden opportunity for projects seeking financial support to drive impact and creativity.
About the Supporting Grants Programme
BASA’s Supporting Grants Programme is tailored to support initiatives that align with its core goals of fostering collaboration between businesses and the arts. Projects that deliver tangible benefits to business sponsors, particularly those involving BASA members, are given priority.
In the previous cycle, the programme allocated R430,000.00 to 13 innovative projects, which in turn secured R3,463,000.00 in cash and in-kind sponsorships. This underscores the programme’s success in bridging commerce and culture.
Sipho Mthiyane, BASA’s Supporting Grants Officer, highlights the programme’s impact:
“By supporting projects that inspire creativity and foster social engagement, we continue to bridge the gap between commerce and culture, enabling both industries to thrive together.”
