Marcus Rashford’s ‘No Hard Feelings’ Statement: Is This His Subtle Goodbye to Manchester United?
Marcus Rashford has hinted at the possibility of leaving Manchester United following comments made in a recent interview. The 27-year-old forward, who has spent eight years at the club, was left out of the squad for the Manchester derby over the weekend. Rashford expressed his disappointment at not being involved in the high-profile match.
Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim addressed Rashford’s omission after his team’s 2-1 victory over Manchester City, confirming that the decision was not related to any disciplinary issues.
During an interview with British journalist Henry Winter on social media, Rashford spoke candidly about his future. “For me, personally, I think I’m ready for a new challenge and the next steps,” he said. Despite expressing a desire for change, Rashford emphasized that any future departure would be amicable. “When I leave, it’s going to be ‘no hard feelings’. You’re not going to hear any negative comments from me about Manchester United. That’s just who I am.”
Rashford made it clear that if and when he decides to leave, it will be on his own terms, with no intention of fueling any negativity. “If I know that a situation is already bad, I’m not going to make it worse. I’ve seen how other players have left in the past and I don’t want to be that person. When I leave, I’ll make a statement, and it will be from me.”
Reflecting on his absence from the Manchester derby, Rashford did not hold back. “It’s disappointing,” he admitted. However, he also highlighted his growth over the years in handling such setbacks. “But as I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned to deal with these situations. What am I going to do about it? Sit there and cry about it? Or do my best the next time I’m available?”
With 138 goals in 426 appearances for Manchester United, Rashford’s time at the club has been marked by notable achievements, but it seems he may now be considering a new chapter in his career.
