Molly’s Food Enterprise, a local powder drink manufacturing company, has generated significant interest in their products at the ongoing Gulfood exhibition in Dubai, UAE, according to a report by SAnews.gov.za. The founder and CEO of the Johannesburg-based company, Lerato Nonyane, is part of a business delegation comprising 16 agro-processing firms showcasing their products at the event.

The company’s range of powder drink products, including their popular ginger drink, has not only attracted interest from the UAE but also from other countries such as Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Bahrain, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Malaysia, and Russia. Nonyane expressed her excitement and satisfaction with their positive response, hoping that the leads will translate into successful business deals that will help the company grow.

The exhibition, which is regarded as the largest food and beverage trade exhibition in the Middle East, is an excellent opportunity for South African companies to expose their products and services to a global audience. Participants at the event include industry leaders and renowned chefs who shape the industry’s future and inspire transformation across the entire ecosystem.
As an emerging exporter, Nonyane expressed her optimism about the company’s potential for growth and expansion, especially if they secure funding. With a footprint in several regions in South Africa and already supplying 30 Pick ‘n Pay stores, the company aims to become the country’s top powder drink manufacturer.

According to Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition, Fikile Majola, the Gulfood exhibition is expected to expose South African companies to available opportunities in the UAE and create awareness for South African products in the Middle East. The event provides a follow-through opportunity for South African firms to unlock more trade opportunities in the region.
