Bulls Brace for Saracens Battle: Can Jake White’s Men Topple Champions?

Jake White is readying his team for a tough challenge as the Vodacom Bulls gear up for their Champions Cup clash against three-time winners Saracens in London this Saturday.

After an impressive bonus-point win against Connacht in the Vodacom URC, despite missing key players, the Bulls are in high spirits. Last season, they made it to the quarter-finals of the Champions Cup, where they were knocked out by Northampton Saints, and they are eager to build on that momentum.

Saracens, third in the English Premiership, are coming off a defeat to Newcastle Falcons, adding extra intrigue to this weekend’s match at StoneX Stadium. However, White is confident that the Bulls’ strong away record will serve them well.

“We’ve had a good away record as a club, and to get a bonus point away from home is something we don’t take for granted,” White said. “It’s the same conditions as we faced against Connacht, but Saracens are a top team with a rich history in the Champions Cup, so we know it’s not going to get any easier.”

Looking ahead, White acknowledged the importance of accumulating points early in the competition: “At the back end of the competition, those are the points you need when you want to push for the play-offs.”

However, White did make a candid remark about Springbok wing Canan Moodie’s fitness after his performance against Connacht. “At times, he looked like he’d eaten too much at the buffet,” White said. “We’ll have to keep him away from the buffet for a while.”

As the Bulls continue their European journey, White’s mix of confidence and humor sets the tone for what promises to be an exciting clash with Saracens.
