Minister to explain how fugitives left SA undetected

Home Affairs Minister Motsoaledi is expected to reveal details on how Thabo Bester and Nandipha Magudumana escaped South Africa undetected by immigration after being repatriated from Tanzania. Bester and Magudumana were arrested in the company of a Mozambican national and are now in custody as reported by Eyewitness News.

However, investigations into how they managed to leave the country illegally are ongoing.

Police Minister Cele commented on the matter, stating that the Home Affairs Department would clarify further how the fugitives evaded immigration authorities.

An extradition request may be made for the Mozambican national once investigations into his role are complete.
