Tyron Dos Santos: Rising Star in Trampoline Gymnastics

At just 17 years old, Tyron Dos Santos, a talented gymnast from Alberton, is making a name for himself in the world of trampoline gymnastics. His journey into the sport began three years ago, inspired by his natural flair for flipping and bouncing on a backyard trampoline.

Tyron’s dedication and hard work at the No Limits Trampoline Club in Kibler Park have paid off, as he recently clinched two gold medals at the National Championships in Cape Town. The young athlete credits his parents for their unwavering support and encouragement throughout his gymnastics career.

Despite facing challenges such as injuries and the demanding balance between training and academics, Tyron remains focused on his goal of excelling in the sport. He finds motivation in both personal aspirations and the desire to inspire younger athletes who look up to him.

Maintaining a structured schedule that includes rigorous training three times a week for two and a half hours, Tyron also prioritizes academic commitments and recovery. His ultimate dream is to represent South Africa in international competitions, with the Olympics being a long-term goal.

Drawing inspiration from his role model, Ruben Padilla, Tyron emphasizes the importance of discipline, patience, and perseverance in achieving success in gymnastics. As he prepares to compete in the African Gymnastics Championships in Zimbabwe, he works closely with his coach to develop new routines and ensure he stays injury-free.
