Mams man allegedly shoots girlfriend dead, injures brother, two colleagues
The Mamelodi police have detained an individual for the alleged murder of his girlfriend during the early hours of Sunday, October 6.
The suspect is scheduled to appear in court on Monday to face charges of murder and attempted murder.
Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi reported that the suspect engaged in a dispute with his girlfriend, which escalated when his mother and brother intervened.
Nevhuhulwi disclosed that the man proceeded to discharge a firearm, injuring his brother before turning the weapon on his girlfriend.
“She sustained fatal gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene,” stated Nevhuhulwi.
“Subsequently, he fled the scene, and later the same day, a report was received that the suspect had shot two colleagues and set fire to their vehicles,” she added.
Nevhuhulwi mentioned that the victims survived and are currently receiving medical treatment.
She confirmed that the suspect has been apprehended, and the firearm has been confiscated.
