Drugs hidden in toilet pipes confiscated by north police
Police in Hammanskraal successfully seized illegal drugs worth R10,000 in a recent operation following a community tip-off. The operation led to the arrest of a 44-year-old suspect on charges of possession and dealing in illegal drugs. The Tshwane Crime Intelligence Unit, spearheading the fight against drug-related crime, achieved this significant breakthrough.
Upon reaching the suspect’s location, officers found attempts to dispose of the drugs by flushing them down the toilet. Law enforcement officials swiftly recovered the drugs concealed within the toilet pipes, thanks to the prompt response to the community alert.
Additionally, on the same day, law enforcement authorities in Hammanskraal apprehended a 43-year-old wanted suspect linked to a murder case in Temba. The individual was arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, including a silver 9mm pistol, a magazine, and two live rounds of ammunition.
Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi, a police spokesperson, commended the operation, attributing its success to community tip-offs and collaborative policing efforts. Both arrested suspects are expected to appear in court soon.
