Air fryer roast rumps with skinny fries

Published

on

Air fryers have revolutionized home cooking, making it easier to achieve that perfect roast without the need for a traditional oven. What makes air fryer roast rumps so special is the way the air fryer’s rapid hot air circulation locks in the juices, ensuring the meat remains tender on the inside while achieving a crisp, caramelized exterior. The result? A roast rump that’s bursting with flavor, with none of the fuss or mess of traditional roasting.

But let’s not overlook the fries. Skinny fries, when cooked in an air fryer, reach an ideal level of crispiness that’s often elusive when baking or frying in oil. The secret lies in the air fryer’s ability to cook the fries evenly from all angles, giving them that irresistible crunch with a fraction of the oil you’d typically use. This means you get to indulge in your favorite comfort food without the guilt.

Recipe compliments of McCain.

Ingredients

  • 1 packet 500g McCain Skinny Fries
  • 600g beef rumps
  • 3 teaspoons oil
  • 2 tablespoons garlic and herb seasoning
  • Cracked Black Pepper
  • Salt to taste

Method

  1. Preheat the air fryer on 200 ℃
  2. Add the McCain Skinny Fries to the fryer and set for 14 minutes
  3. After 3 minutes, open the air fryer, move the chips to the side
  4. Place in the rumps in the air fryer and continue to cook
  5. When 5 minutes are remaining on the fryer, open and turn the rumps – you might need to add 2 minutes to the time
  6. Continue to cook until the time is up
  7. Enjoy immediately with a sauce of choice and salad
