Sticky chicken wings made with Rooibos syrup

Ingredients
For the wings:
- 12 x chicken wings
- 1 x Tbs olive oil
- 1 x ¼ cup soy sauce
- 1 x ¼ cup Rooibos syrup (see recipe below)
- 2 x Tbs fresh lemon juice
- 1 x clove garlic, minced
- 1 x Tbs chilli sauce
- Sesame seeds for garnish
- Salt & pepper to season
For the Rooibos syrup:
- 2 x cups water
- 4 x Teabags Laager Cranberry & Wild Cherry Rooiboss
- 1 x cup sugar
Method
- In a saucepan, place water, Laager Cranberry and Wild Cherry Rooibos teabags and sugar and bring to the boil.
- Simmer until the mixture is reduced to half.
- Set aside and cool.
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
- In a bowl, toss the wings with the oil, salt and pepper and place on a baking tray.
- Bake for 40 minutes, rotating after 20 minutes until crisp and golden on each side.
- In a saucepan, place the rest of the ingredients (except the sesame seeds), heat through until the sauce has thickened
- As soon the as the wings come out of the oven, toss them in the thickened Rooibos syrup.
- Transfer wings on a serving platter, finish with sesame seeds and serve.
