5 health-boosting tips for a stronger immune system

Spending more time under a blanket on the couch and less time being active, eating heartier foods and, of course, stress, are all factors that negatively impact your health during the colder months.

Give your immune system the boost it needs to keep you healthy by following these five tips from Kiko Vitals:

  1. Drink up. Herbal teas like chamomile, peppermint, and ginger keep you warm and offer various health benefits, so brew a cuppa or two.
  2. Rest well. Ensure at least 7-8 hours of sleep per night to allow the body to recover and strengthen its defenses.
  3. Move more. Moderate exercise can boost the immune system by promoting good circulation. Try to get at least 30 minutes of moderate exercise in – even if it’s just a quick walk around the block with your dog.
  4. Make time to relax. Practice relaxation techniques like meditation or yoga and learn to manage your stress levels. Engage in a relaxing hobby like painting, pottery, or learning a musical instrument to keep your brain engaged.
  5. Eat with your gut in mind. Opt for gut-supporting foods such as leafy greens, lean proteins, and whole grains to enhance the immune response and promote a healthy gut microbiome.
