Police Intensify Efforts to Hunt Down Gang Responsible for Soshanguve Hijacking that Killed 5-Year-Old Boy
The police are increasing their efforts to track down the group responsible for the murder of Ditebogo Junior Phalane in a Soshanguve hijacking. Also, they are allocating more resources to the investigative team.
EWN reports that the five-year-old kid was shot to death outside his home in the botched hijacking incident on Friday evening in Soshanguve.
The highest-ranking police officers visited the Phalane family on Tuesday morning to console and comfort them.
The last moments of Ditebogo were characterised by a shift from happiness to terror when he went out to meet his father, only to encounter armed people in the midst of hijacking his father’s car.

Police Minister Bheki Cele, who visited the family, expressed deep sorrow at the senseless loss and stressed the sudden switch from the joy to the pain of the little victim.
Cele mentioned that the police are using technology to help capture those who committed these crimes, showing their will to bring them to justice.
Through the community’s help getting information, Cele stressed the need for the people’s cooperation in arresting the suspects of the horrible crime.
