Reward of R250,000 Offered in Murder Case of Five-Year-Old
Gayton McKenzie, the leader of the Patriotic Alliance, has announced a R250k reward for information about the identity of those who killed five-year-old Ditebogo Phalane.
This disastrous incident happened when a hijacking by a group of people in Soshanguve, Tshwane, started on 10th May Friday, in the presence of Ditebogo’s father.
Family spokesperson Gift Makoti told the media they were caught off guard by this terrible blow and could not have imagined it would happen to them.
“Ditebogo was hijacked in Soshanguve Block UU and his Toyota Hilux bakkie was stolen. Even more devastatingly, his 5-year-old son Ditebogo Junior was shot during the incident and tragically lost his life. ”
Their appeal is directed at the public through the media and online platforms, and they offer a reward for tips.

Last weekend (Sandstrom, 4), seven-year-old Ditebogo Junior became a big brother to their newest family member, a baby girl.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo confirmed that the hijacking occurred around 22:30. The five-year-old boy was allegedly hijacked by the armed suspects in the father’s bakkie and shot by them.
“The boy was taken to hospital, where he was certified dead on arrival. ”
Police had launched an investigation under the charges of murder and hijacking and also asked the public to contact the closest police station or crime stop on 08600 10111 for additional information if they have any.
