Special Vote Applications Open for 2024 Elections
The Electoral Commission notifies voters of national and provincial elections, reminding them that those unable to vote physically could apply for the special vote. Special voting will occur on May 27 and 28, two days before election day, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The deadline for requesting a Special Vote is May 3.
Administration of Special Votes, both for home and station visits, opened on April 15 and will end on May 3. According to IEC spokesperson Kate Bapela, home visits are exclusive to voters who cannot go to polling stations, while unique votes at the voting stations are for those who cannot be present on polling day.

Voters can register by filling out forms online, via SMS, or by visiting local IEC offices. The Commission opposes misinformation about special voting authorization for individuals over 60. Bapela, in his statement yesterday, reminded voters to vote in the district where they are registered.
However, those planning to vote in a different district must use section 24A notices to May 17.
