Brakpan Heavyweight Sets Sights on South African Title

In March 2022, Brakpan’s Shaun Potgieter suffered a first-round defeat against Keaton Gomes. Gomes later claimed the SA heavyweight title. Having shed 30kg since his loss to Gomes, Potgieter seeks redemption tonight as he challenges the champion.

Both fighters expressed confidence at the pre-fight press conference and weigh-in. Tonight’s event also features South Africa’s IBO World Junior Bantamweight champion Ricardo Malajika defending his title against the UK’s Marcel Braithwaite.
