Petrol and Diesel Prices Set to Rise in April
This April, petrol and diesel prices will increase among South Africans, the CEF mentioned in its statement on 27 March 2024.
There will be an increase in petrol and a marginal exception of diesel for a select group of users. As per the Stuff report, the coastal diesel drivers will notice a slight decrease of 2 cents per litre.
The Department of Mineral Resources and Energy’s changes will take effect at midnight on Wednesday, 3 April 2024. It will eventually affect fuel prices across the country.
The released statement on the latest fuel price alterations unveiled a cumulative balance of R2.65 for petrol and diesel Slate in February, an additional 21.92 cents per litre added to this month’s amendments.
The price of different fuel types, from Petrol 93 to Petrol 95, Diesel 0.05 % to Diesel 0.005 %, and Illuminating Paraffin to LPGAS will swing, both inland and coastal.

Inland areas:
- Petrol 93: By the end of the year, diesel prices have risen by 65 cents per litre.
- Petrol 95: Tariff of 67 cents per litre increased.
- Diesel 0.05%: Growth of 3 USD cents per litre
- Diesel 0.005%: Coupon off 2 cents per litre
- Illuminating Paraffin: 29 cents decline per liter.
- LPGAS: Reduction by 19 cents of a kilogramme.
Coastal regions:
- Petrol 93: Rise in prices by 0.58 dollars/litre.
- Petrol 95: By 60 cents per litre, there is an increase.
- Diesel 0.05%: Decrease of 4 per cent for every litre.
- Diesel 0.005%: 9 cents reduction per litre.
- Illuminating Paraffin: The fall of each litre will amount to $0.26.
- LPGAS: It will be reduced by 19 cents per kg.
