Court Proceedings Delayed in Case Against Suspect Accused of Killing Six Sex Workers
There has been a delay in the trial for Sifiso Mkhwanazi. He is accused of killing six sex workers. Per EWN, his case continues at the High Court in Palm Ridge.
The 21-year-old faces six counts of murder, seven of rape, and a litany of other charges.
Mkhwanazi was arrested two years ago after six bodies were discovered at his father’s panel beating workshop in Johannesburg.
Senior State Advocate Leswikane Mashabela said the witnesses intended to be called to testify on Monday have requested not to be named or shown by the media.

Last Friday, the case was put down for the State and the accused to enter a plea deal. However, this proved futile, with the State now expected to bring out its first witness on Monday.
The witness is the accused’s father, and his request not to have his name or face broadcast resulted in a short adjournment.
Mashabela, the accused’s legal counsel, and a representative from the media are in the judge’s chambers discussing a way forward for Monday’s proceedings.
