The Department of Home Affairs in Brakpan is urging residents to collect over 1,200 unclaimed smart ID cards, with some dating back to 2016, at their offices.

Applicants must make an appointment online before collecting their smart ID cards. Appointments occur during the week from 8 am to 3.30 pm. When collecting, bring a driver’s license, old ID document, passport, birth certificate, and proof of application.

The Department stresses that residents need to schedule an appointment and present proof of application and identity. This initiative aims to streamline the collection process and reduce the backlog of unclaimed smart ID cards at the Brakpan Home Affairs office.

Residents are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to secure their smart ID cards promptly and contribute to the efficient functioning of the Home Affairs services in the region.
