Arrest Made in Copper Theft from Municipal Offices

In a recent incident, a 24-year-old man was apprehended after being discovered in possession of stolen copper cables and copper pipes originating from the newly constructed Duduza municipal offices on a Thursday afternoon. The suspect was apprehended by security personnel during their routine patrol of the building.

Sergeant Harry Manaka, the spokesperson for Duduza Police, stated that the individual was subsequently handed over to the police for further investigation. In addition to the stolen copper materials, the suspect possessed various tools believed to be used during the theft, including a bread knife, pliers, and a screwdriver.

The accused is now facing multiple charges, including theft, possession of stolen property, and property damage. He made his initial court appearance at the Heidelberg Magistrate’s Court the following Monday.
