De Pozi is a synth-inspired duo consisting of Afrikaans poetic lyricist Dyllan de Beer and digital beat maker Rossouw Treurnich, both of whom hail from Kempton Park. Their roots in the city are evident in their music, which pays homage to their hometown.
To reach the finals, De Pozi had to compete against bands from across the country. Their manager, Nicolene Joubert, expressed excitement about their progress and noted that the band aims to challenge social norms through their music.
The winners of Ruk en Rym will have the opportunity to record two singles with Peach van Pletzen at Planet Awesome and produce a music video in collaboration with André Badenhorst and Alen Sayers.
Joubert encourages community members to support De Pozi by attending the finals, and tickets can be purchased at the door or online through the official website.
