Residents’ safety guaranteed by Ethekwini Municipality during shutdown

In response to the national shutdown planned by the EFF, the Ethekwini Municipality has released a statement to inform residents of measures taken to ensure their safety. Additional Metro Police officers have been deployed to all communities to guard against criminal activity and lawlessness as reported by SA News.

In addition, the Municipality assures the public that all roads are clear and safe for motorists to use, and law enforcement agencies are ready to respond swiftly to any reported disruptions.

The M25 underwent a brief closure earlier in the morning, but the road has been cleared since.

Although this incident occurred, the Municipality confirms that there have been no reports of looting or violent protests.
