Thembisa Job Scammer Apprehended by EMPD
The EMPD Anti-Cable Theft Unit officers achieved a significant breakthrough. They successfully apprehended a Thembisa job scammer on August 9, exposing his fraudulent job scheme.
The 31-year-old male suspect faces accusations of preying on job seekers by deceiving them with false promises. The officers discovered him with a laptop, cell phones, and a collection of CVs.
The case’s origins trace back to earlier this year when a CoE MMC reported a case of fraud to the Rabasotho Police Station. The MMC had stumbled upon a disturbing revelation that the fraudster was exploiting her name. The scam artist, posing as her, was deceiving job seekers with the guarantee of intensive EMPD training in the Free State. He coerced the victims into making payments to qualify for the training.
In response to the reported fraud, the EMPD officers wasted no time. They swiftly tracked down the suspect to his residence in the Difateng section. The alleged fraudster was promptly apprehended and placed under custody at the Rabasotho Police Station, pending further legal proceedings.
